Conveyor belt restaurant, which will give you your fix.

I often get some sushi platters in when having some lunch meetings in our office nearby.

At least better than the corporate sandwiches.

When you order a la carte sashimi, quality seems better than picking from the belt.

Tip: Half an hour before the end of the day, all dishes are charged at one pound. They offer a take away and delivery service.

The House - San Francisco

In the North Beach area stopped at this small restaurant.

Packed with people, so they must do something good.

This is not a sushi place, but they had Torro and black cod on the menu.

Of course I went for that and was blown away.

Think this is the best torro I ever had and the black cod was amazing.

Been back here 4 times already and will stop by next time I am over.

Tomo Sushi - Luxembourg

There aren't many sushi Sushi places in Luxembourg but over the last years some Chinese restaurants turned into sushi-bars, including this one.

Count about 25 euro per person.

The place is about 5 mins out of the city centre and first impression of the building is not great. However, inside is comfortable, good portions and quality not too bad but maybe not very authentic...

Kiraku - Ealing Common London (WOW)

Been here about 5 times now and this no frill place, full with Japanese people has some really good stuff.
Traditional dishes and had some fantastic torro.
Not a romantic place but food is so good. This little restaurant was voted as best Sushi restaurant in London over several years.

Absolutely original atmosphere, very different, clubby. lounchy...
Sushi is so so. But this is really an original place and great to take out business partners or hang out with trendy friends.

Zuma - Food like Nobu and Roka in a much nicer environment

Beautiful people, beautiful place, beautiful food.
Contemporary Japanese.
Got invited twice to this restaurant and the place is truly something special.
We ordered a lot of different dishes and everything was beautifully presented and tasted superb.
It has the same feel as Nobu and Roka but I find the atmosphere more relaxed and thank goodness not so noisy.
Price superb as well probably....

Buddha Bar - Paris France

Budhha Bar - around the corner of the Place de la Concorde.
Now this place is (was) something special, however it has become very touristy.
When you enter you have to get used to the lighting (very dark), but once adjusted you will find yourself in another world.
2 Floors with bar on upper level looking down on the restaurant.
A giant Buddha statue and lots of candles.
After 10.30 a DJ will mix some authentic Buddha bar music mixes.
The Sushi was okish, nothing special, still this place will be one of my favorites, if it was for the chilled music only.
You can buy the Buddha Bar music on CDs or via the Itunes store.
Album 9, 7 and 3 are fab.


Count about 40 - 60 Euros per person.
In the bar, cocktails around 15 euros. (no binge drinking here...)

Tip: Getting around in a taxi in Paris is really cheap. I paid about 6 to 7 euro going from one end in the city centre to the other end. Apparently they have too many taxi licences for the city, hence the low prices. Good for us, not so good for the taxi drivers...
